Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 1 year relevant experience.
• Valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain CJIS, Taser, First Aid/CPR/AED and Use of Force training within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain positive public relations.

Responsibilities

• Detention and inmate supervision; monitor inmate movement.
• Respond to safety and security incidents; may restrain inmates.
• Prepare and deliver medication, hygiene items, clothing and linens to inmates.
• Process intake and release of inmates; verify timing.
• Maintain building security and document inmate discipline.
• Transport detainees as necessary.
• Update jail records using computer databases and software.
