Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and two years of full-time work experience in any occupation.
• Pay starts at $33.94 / hour.
• One year experience as a Corrections Officer I; OR completion of two years of college or vocational coursework in corrections, law enforcement, sociology, psychology or related field; OR four years experience in related areas.
• Pay starts at $36.31 / hour.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmates during job assignments, meals, recreation, and visitation.
• Conduct security checks of buildings and grounds to ensure secure confinement.
• Conduct searches of inmates, living quarters and work areas for contraband and weapons.
• Intervene in emergencies and restrain inmates when necessary.
• Administer medication and carry out treatment according to physician’s orders.
