Job summary

County Prison seeks a Corrections Officer I to maintain security and supervise inmates in a county facility in Clarion, PA. The role includes performing inmate searches, maintaining logs, and ensuring doors and windows remain secure throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some training in typing and personal computers is preferred.
• First Aid and CPR helpful.

Responsibilities

• Conducts searches on incoming inmates and prepares them for commitment.
• Makes rounds and ensures proper head count.
• Ensures all doors and windows are locked and prison is secure.
• Maintains logbooks and records of inmates’ activities as required.
• Supervises inmates during bathing, meals, and recreation periods.
• Interacts with inmates to determine needs or problems.
• Transports and guards inmates; controls inmates with restraint devices when necessary.
• Performs related duties and assists with duties in various prison areas.
