Job summary

Venango County Jail is seeking a Corrections Officer to maintain order, supervise inmate conduct, and provide basic counseling during assigned shifts. The role includes ensuring security, performing searches, logging activities, and coordinating inmate movement.

Requires a high school diploma and PA driver’s license; first aid/CPR helpful. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and clearances. Overtime and on-call duties apply; all duties are performed on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; typing & PC basics useful.
• First aid and CPR helpful.
• PA Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 5 months of employment.
• Clearances (Act 34/151 and FBI) required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and supervise inmate conduct during shifts.
• Conduct inmate searches and ensure facility security.
• Maintain logs and records of inmate activities and movements.
