Under the general supervision of the Superintendent and the direct supervision of the Sergeant or Corporal, you will be responsible for providing care, custody, and control of inmates for Carroll County Department of Corrections in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Candidates must demonstrate understanding of correctional policies, establish effective relationships with staff, inmates, and the public, perform diversified duties with sound judgment, communicate effectively, analyze data, and meet physical requirements, including passing agility tests and exerting force as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of correctional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating required skills and abilities.
Certified Correctional Officer by the New Hampshire Association of Counties or another certifying authority, or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Group II with New Hampshire Retirement System.
