Purpose
Under general supervision, contribute to the preparation, processing, and shipment of clinical trial-related labs, biopsies, and archived tissue samples for the Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office (CCCTO). Manage kit supplies and inventory, oversee databases and filing systems, and support clinical research studies with administrative and data entry responsibilities.

Position Description:

Purpose
Under general supervision, contribute to the preparation, processing, and shipment of clinical trial-related labs, biopsies, and archived tissue samples for the Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office (CCCTO). Manage kit supplies and inventory, oversee databases and filing systems, and support clinical research studies with administrative and data entry responsibilities.

Primary Functions
  • Prepare blood collection tubes, deliver to appropriate locations, and process or transport as necessary.
  • Process (spin, aliquot, freeze samples, make blood slides) and ship labs timely per sponsor specifications.
  • Request archived tissue samples from pathology departments and ship as required.
  • Assist with collection, processing, and shipping of tissue biopsies per protocol.
  • Collect data from study coordinators and nurses, and enter into research forms and databases.
  • Accurately enter research data into case report forms, OnCore, and other systems under guidance.
  • Assist with coordination of study activities and organize lab and file rooms.
  • Handle supply orders, returns, and destruction.
  • Participate in site visits and monitor meetings to review lab training, inventories, and samples.
  • Coordinate logistics for lab samples in Investigator Initiated Trials.
  • Facilitate Lab Competency Trainings for new employees.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshoot lab issues.

  • Basic knowledge of lab procedures, safety, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
Position Requirements

Minimum Education: High school
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s in a related field
Preferred Experience: Research or clinical data management
Certification: CITI training within 30 days of hire
