We are seeking candidates looking for permanent employment for our positions.

We currently have openings for full-time Laboratory Assistants at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. These positions are located in our Lab Specimen Receiving area:

This area of the lab is central to each section – every sample comes through here to be triaged, and the role of these lab assistants is to ensure that the best sample is delivered and processed for testing. Customer service and the ability to multi-task are essential skills for this area. It’s a fast-paced environment, ideal for those considering a career in the lab, as it offers exposure to various processes.

We are offering the following sign-on/retention incentives for our open full-time positions:

  • A $2,500* sign-on/retention bonus for full-time day shift.
  • A $3,000* sign-on/retention bonus for full-time evening shift.
  • A $4,000* sign-on/retention bonus for full-time night shift.

Available position:

  • Full-time, 40-hours/week evening shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm.

Weekends are shared on rotation, approximately every 6 weeks, including holidays. A 15% shift differential is provided for weekend work. Please specify your preferred shifts in your application.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; some college coursework and laboratory experience are preferred. We seek individuals with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working in a demanding, fast-paced environment. We provide on-the-job training for all positions. Our laboratory team is dedicated and strives for the highest standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform functions related to demographic data, test requisitioning, labels, and reports; process specimens.
  2. Obtain blood specimens from patients and gather specimen requirement information.
  3. Operate the pneumatic tube system (PTS) for timely specimen delivery.
  4. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • College coursework preferred.
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a demanding environment required.
