Job summary

Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System seeks a program coordinator to oversee a mentor program at the Butner Federal Correctional Complex in North Carolina. You will match inmate participants with community mentors and coordinate training, logistics, and relationships with partners.

You will work with Reentry Affairs Coordinators and facility staff to promote successful community reentry while maintaining security and compliance with agency policies.

Qualifications

• Education transcripts must be uploaded if education is a qualification.
• Official transcripts must be provided prior to the first day of duty if education is used for qualification.
• Degrees must be from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the mentor program, matching inmate participants with community mentors at or near their release destination.
• Work with program staff, Reentry Affairs Coordinators (RAC), and facility staff to match inmates and mentors, train volunteers, and coordinate logistics.
• Develop working relationships with USPS, RRCs, and faith-based/community organizations.
• Establish and maintain outside community networks to support successful community reentry.
• Maintain security as a core staff responsibility and operate within institutional policies.
