Job summary

Staff Today Inc. seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant in Monroe, WA to assist with patient examinations, document vitals, and prepare patients for procedures in a correctional healthcare setting.

You will perform clinical tasks, educate patients, schedule appointments, and maintain clean, stocked exam rooms while following infection control practices. Washington MA license and 1+ year MA experience preferred, with benefits on start.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted Washington license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 3 years.
• Copy of current PSV from licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, injections, wound care, and medication administration as permitted by state regulations.
• Schedule appointments, maintain patient records, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
• Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care instructions.
• Ensure examination rooms, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow infection control practices, safety protocols, and facility policies.
