Job summary

University Health System (UH) is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide dermatological and custodial care within the detention health care setting. The role emphasizes safe, therapeutic nursing while upholding security requirements and UH/DHCS policies.

Experience in correctional or emergency nursing is preferred. Ideal candidates will hold a Texas LVN license and CPR certification, with a commitment to high standards of patient care and strong customer relations skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in correctional health care, psychiatric nursing, or emergency nursing is preferred.
• Experience in University Health nursing services and/or certification as a CCHP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care that is efficient, appropriate, and therapeutic for patients while ensuring that security requirements are maintained.
• Continuously monitor the condition and status of patients and deliver care that meets established standards.
• Support and adheres to University Health System (UH) and Detention Health Care Services (DHCS) policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with UH mission, vision and values; promote internal and external customer relations.
