Job summary

Orange County Government operates in Orlando, Florida, seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for a 12-hour day shift at the Orange County Jail. You will provide nursing care under supervision, administer medications, document treatments, and assist physicians in a correctional setting.

Qualifications include a current Florida LPN license and willingness to work nights/weekends; medical/surgical nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Must have a current valid Florida Licensed Practical Nurse license.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts; including nights and weekends.
Preferences: medical/surgical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties function as medication and treatment nurse.
Monitors medication compliance in accordance with established protocols.
Documents administration of medications and treatments; observes changes and notifies.
Carries out treatment plans as established by the medical team.
Obtains urine, blood and other specimens for laboratory examinations.
Assists physicians in clinic areas.
Responds to emergencies.
Maintains unit compliance for inspections.
Participates in in-service training and continuing education.
Provides routine clinic tasks as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
