Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse for a travel assignment in Newark, NJ. The nurse will provide general and emergency nursing care to individuals in custody while upholding security standards in the Corrections Facility.

Requirements include a valid LPN license, at least one year in corrections preferred, CPR if applicable, TB screening or chest x-ray, and a current health certificate.

Qualifications

• Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state.
• Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and emergency nursing care to adults in custody.
• Maintain facility security standards while delivering care.
• Collaborate with medical staff in the Corrections facility.

The Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse works in close and immediate contact with adults and children in custody on a daily basis providing general and emergency nursing care in the Medical and Ambulatory section of the Corrections Facility while maintaining facility security standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state
• Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
