Job summary

Qualifications

• Post-high school coursework/training in Criminal Justice or related Behavioral field and three years of progressively responsible corrections experience.
• Experience or coursework/training in supervision and leadership.
• Must be able to legally possess firearms and ammunition.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a specific shift of a custody force.
• Conduct investigations and resolve inmate-related issues.
• Supervise performance of all assigned security staff and indirect supervision of other staff.
• Conduct roll calls and manage administrative paperwork.
• Supervise custody activities such as searches, tours, and inmate/visitor escort.
• Serve as initial commander during emergencies.
• Prepare and write incident reports and related documentation.
