Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of correctional security or law enforcement experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage a diverse team in a security-sensitive environment.
• Proficiency in monitoring behaviors, conducting security checks, and responding to emergencies.
• Valid Arkansas driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee correctional staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
• Ensure safety and security of the facility by conducting regular security checks and monitoring inmate activities.
• Develop and implement policies to maintain order and discipline within the institution.
• Coordinate inmate movement and daily activities, including meals, work schedules, and transportation.
• Prepare and maintain reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct inmate searches and inspections to prevent contraband and ensure compliance with rules.
• Provide guidance and support to staff to maintain a professional work environment.
• Attend meetings to discuss security issues and operational updates.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations to enhance public safety and rehabilitation.
