Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four (4) years of high school.
• Requires one (1) year of supervisory experience in a commercial, institutional or state-operated facility laundry.
• Prefers working knowledge of modern laundry techniques, methods, and operations, planning and controls.
• Prefers ability to lead individuals in custody by example and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the operation of the laundry department and equipment.
• Assigns work and monitors individuals in custody assigned to the laundry in receiving, sorting, washing, repairing, ironing, packing, and delivering laundry within the facility to ensure peak efficiency of laundry operation.
• Enforces and maintains the security, sanitation, and safety of the laundry.
• Maintains adequate inventory of laundry supplies.
• Maintains records of individuals in custody, operations, and equipment maintenance.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
