Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Commissary Manager to direct commissary, laundry and barber/beauty operations within a correctional facility. You will supervise the laundry operations and train and oversee all inmate workers, ensuring proper procedures are utilized and equipment is maintained.

You will assist the commissary manager with supply distribution, ensure sanitation and cleanliness of barber equipment, and order and stock necessary equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Work experience directly related to the area of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Direct the commissary, laundry and barber/beauty operations within a correctional environment.
• Supervise the laundry operations.
• Train and oversee all inmate workers.
• Ensure proper procedures are utilized.
• Maintain equipment.
• Assist with supply distribution.
• Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of barber equipment.
• Order and stock necessary equipment and supplies.
• Develop and implement a system to reduce and/or eliminate theft of laundry items.
• Assist in accountability of records inventories, weekly recaps, postings and SCEIS entries.
• Respond to request to staff.
• Perform duties of manager in their absence.
• Schedule subject to change.
