Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates in a Missouri kitchen, train staff, and ensure meals meet production plans and safety standards. The role emphasizes security, sanitation, and adherence to HACCP policies while maintaining efficient meal service.

The position requires at least 18 years of age, prior food prep or supervisory experience preferred, and the ability to obtain a food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience interacting with inmates is a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates/team members in a correctional environment.
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification.
• Independent worker with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines by reviewing production and temperature logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Print and distribute recipes.
• Direct inmates in using Aramark recipes and train on proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and accommodate dietary requirements.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Follow security policies; keep storage areas locked.
• Return and secure all kitchen tools and keys.
• Set work and sanitation schedules and ensure adherence by staff.
• Assist inventory, proper receiving and storage of food items; requisition orders as needed.
• Participate in 5 P's processes for meals storage and assembly.
• Follow SOPs for food handling; HACCP procedures.
