Job summary

Centurion seeks a Medical Records Clerk at the Illinois River Correctional Center in Canton, IL. This full-time role handles offender health records, retrieval for appointments, filing, and intakes, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

The position requires a High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, CPR/BLS certification, and prior medical records experience. RHIA/RHIT credentials are preferred. Day shift, on-site with benefits and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Certification by the AHIMA as RHIA or RHIT preferred but not required.
• Prior experience with medical records and services.
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance, drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintains offender health records and retrieves records for scheduled appointments.
• Files offender health data and initiates records for new or transferred intakes.
• Reviews health records for completeness and prepares reports as needed.
