Job summary

Aramark's Madison Transitional Facility in Madison, IN seeks a Corrections Oversight Worker to supervise inmates, train staff, and coordinate meal production while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing logs, ensuring proper portions, and upholding Aramark guidelines. Prior supervisory and food prep experience preferred; candidates must be 18+ and able to obtain a food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous experience interacting with inmates a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment.
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and tact.
• Must follow basic safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain production guidelines by reviewing production and temperature logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and adherence to Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Print and distribute recipes.
• Direct inmates in using Aramark recipes and train on proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and accommodate dietary requirements.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Adhere to security policies; ensure storage areas are locked.
• Return kitchen tools and keys to secured area.
• Determine work procedures, schedules and sanitation plans for cooks/inmates/staff.
• Assist in inventory, receiving and storing food; requisition orders as needed.
• Participate in meal prep/storage/assembly processes.
• Follow Aramark SOPs and HACCP policies for handling and storage.
