Job summary

Colorado Department of Corrections, Trinidad Correctional Facility, seeks a Licensed Electrician Lieutenant (CSLTS II) to oversee electrical operations and supervise staff and inmates. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with NEC, and project leadership within a correctional environment.

You will ensure efficient electrical systems, review blueprints, and coordinate with other trades while promoting inmate reentry through structured programs.

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
• Five years of employment experience performing preventive, predictive, and/or corrective maintenance and/or installations of electrical systems.
• Formal apprenticeship or degree substitution options may apply; transcripts required.
• Ability to read blueprints, prepare material and labor lists with cost estimates, and coordinate with other trades.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of facility and work sites.
• Communicate training and safety procedures to staff and inmates.
• Conduct work-site inspections and ensure proper use of tools and PPE.
• Lead and supervise assigned staff and inmates; monitor performance.
• Plan projects by reviewing work orders, blueprints, and vendor quotes.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and regulations; maintain records.
