Job summary

The State of Hawai\u2019i, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, seeks a Corrections Education Specialist II at the Oahu Community Correctional Center in Kalihi. This supervisory role leads a small staff and oversees an education program of moderate size within a correctional facility.

Responsibilities include planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating educational activities; conducting educational case management for inmates; and ensuring programs meet regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• One-and-a-half years of progressively responsible professional teaching experience.
• One year of professional teaching experience in a corrections education program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the education program of moderate size in a correctional facility.
• Perform educational case management for inmates.
• Identify inmates' educational needs and develop individualized educational plans.
• Monitor, evaluate and document inmates' progress and modify plans as necessary.
