South Dakota Department of Corrections is hiring an instructor to provide effective programs for adult male offenders at the state penitentiary. The role includes teaching GED content areas, life skills, and social studies, with year-round classes and regular testing.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage classrooms and maintain order in a correctional education setting.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned to GED standards and other subjects.
• Engage adult learners and adapt teaching to diverse educational levels.

Responsabilités

• provide classroom instruction to offenders in GED content areas (math, science, reading, language arts, social studies)
• proctor GED and TABE testing
• perform administrative duties such as record-keeping and scheduling
• participate in staff meetings and professional development and perform other duties as assigned
