The Pierce County Sheriff's Office invites qualified corrections deputies to apply for a lateral opportunity in Tacoma, WA. Lateral candidates may bypass a written exam and could receive a $25,000 hiring incentive, plus 80 hours of sick leave immediately and 80 hours of vacation leave after six months of employment.

As a corrections deputy, you will work in housing units across a 24/7 operation, with career paths from booking deputy to training deputy.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have valid corrections officer commission or equivalent commission as described.
• Background in corrections or law enforcement training preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Care and custody of adult prisoners and maintain order and discipline in Pierce County Corrections and Detention Center.
• Operate jail facilities on a 24/7 basis with supervision of inmates.
• Assist in various assignments including booking, central control, court escort, or training roles.
• Participate in background investigations and Civil Service ranking process.
