Job summary

The State of Washington Department of Corrections seeks a Corrections and Custody Officer 1 at Brownstone Reentry Center in Spokane. This full-time position provides security, monitors inmate activity, and enforces post orders to maintain safety and order within the facility.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Department of Corrections Corrections and Custody Officer or as a correctional officer with equivalent security functions.
• CORE (Academy) completion required and successful Field Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security of BSRC and control movement into, out of, and within BSRC.
• Monitor incarcerated individuals and staff movement via cameras and counts.
• Drive incarcerated individuals to employment, medical appointments, etc.
• Operate communications devices to relay information among personnel.
