Job summary

Spokane County Juvenile Court is seeking an entry-level Juvenile Corrections Officer to supervise and care for youth in the detention center, ensuring safety and security around the clock under the direction of Detention Shift Supervisors.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of experience with youth or in a related setting, a valid Washington Driver’s License, and completion of the WA Corrections Officer Academy within six months of appointment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED minimum.
• 1 year working with youth or in a related setting preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Washington Driver’s License.
• Must complete Corrections Officer Academy within six months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide care for detained juveniles in a 24-hour facility.
• Maintain health, safety and security of youths and staff.
• Escort youth to and from court and supervise programming.
• Maintain documentation of incidents and comply with policies.
