Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a Probation & Parole/Correctional staff member for a role on the classification team. Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience as a Probation & Parole Assistant, Correctional Officer, or Office Support Assistant or above within the Missouri Department of Corrections.
• Four or more years of vocational or paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, corrections casework/custody, law enforcement, guidance/counseling, mental health, health, substance use, public/business administration, or experience closely related to the listed responsibilities.
• Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.
• All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed.

Responsibilities

• Serves on a classification team; evaluates offender’s adjustment attitude toward society and release plans; makes recommendations related to ORAS & Case planning/ transfers/ disciplinary actions.
• Secures and verifies information from incarcerated adult offenders concerning home life, relationships, work history, and other factors; maintains classification files.
• Assesses classification status/prepares analysis for program eligibility determinations using AICS, RCA, ICA instruments.
• Acts as grievance officer; processes IRRs; holds disciplinary hearings; participates in treatment team meetings.
• Processes offenders: initial file review, protective custody assessment, enemy waivers, updates enemy lists.
• Maintains office policies; handles laundry, property, financial concerns, mail, censorship notices; notifies of illness/deaths.
• Facilitates offender programs; pre-release counseling; researches community resources before release.
