Job summary

West Virginia Corrections is seeking a Corrections Case Manager to join a team serving inmates in a correctional facility. The role focuses on managing inmate needs, providing counseling, and coordinating with treatment programs, legal representatives, family members, and court officials.

Responsibilities include developing case histories, gathering information, writing reports, and acting as a liaison among stakeholders.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling and guidance, criminology, social work or related field.
Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in inmate counseling, security or treatment in a correctional setting or in counseling, counseling and guidance, as a probation and parole officer, mental health counselor or social worker.
Master's Degree in criminal justice, corrections, social work or related behavioral science field may substitute for the required experience.
Five years of experience at Correctional Officer 2 or higher as substitution for required training and experience.

Responsibilities

Provide services to an assigned caseload of inmates in a correctional facility.
Focus on overall management of inmates and meeting their needs.
Provide individual and/or group counseling as needed.
Assist in development and implementation of treatment programs and writing reports.
