Qualifications

• Possession of a current driver's license.
• Must meet NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS and PREA standards.

Responsibilities

• Four week Correctional Officer Training Academy.
• Work closely with inmates incarcerated in a State prison facility.
• Primarily responsible for the custody and security of inmates in facility buildings, dorms, workshops, and/or fields.
• Supervise housekeeping of inmate housing areas and escort prisoners; investigate suspicious activities; conduct security searches/shakedowns.
• Supervise inmate work crews, patrol prison areas, and transport inmates as assigned.
• Follow departmental policies and regulations; will receive firearms training.
