Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services at Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie, LA, seeks dependable individuals for the frontline role of Correctional Officer. Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR one year of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Four week Correctional Officer Training Academy.
• Work closely with inmates incarcerated in a State prison facility.
• Primarily responsible for the custody and security of inmates - in facility buildings, prison dorms, workshops, and/or fields.
• Supervise housekeeping of inmate housing areas, escort prisoners, investigate suspicious activities, and perform in-depth security searches/shakedowns of inmate’s person, property, living quarters and work locations.
• Supervise inmate work crews, patrol areas of the prison, and transport inmates as assigned.
• Follow direction given by upper level officers, departmental policies, and regulations.
• Will receive firearms training.
