Job summary

Aramark is seeking an Accountant to support corrections-related accounting tasks in Florida. Responsibilities include preparing monthly results, ensuring general ledger accuracy, and coordinating with leadership.

Strong analytical, research and communication skills are essential to address inquiries from clients and vendors. Qualified candidates will have 2-3 years in accounting or accounts payable, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Technical knowledge of accounting regulations, policies and procedures.
• Strong computer skills including accounting databases, Excel and other software.
• Ability to thoroughly analyze and research information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and report monthly operating results to Accounting Leadership with variance explanations.
• Supervise monthly operating statements for compliance with obligations and policies.
• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
• Review balance sheets quarterly with accountants and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with policy and client obligations for all locations.
• Assist with corporate reporting and internal auditing reports and questions.
• Participate in special projects as required by management.
• Process and organize invoices for timely payment.
• Review ledgers, statements and balance sheets for accuracy.
• Record financial information and provide summaries.
• Recommend actions to stop misuse of budget and reduce loss.
• Maintain accounts by recording, identifying, and verifying financial transactions.
• Follow internal accounting procedures and policies to ensure financial security.
• Attend conferences and stay up-to-date on new technologies.
• Collaborate with accounting department to ensure all financial actions are accurate.
