Job summary

State of Tennessee is seeking a dedicated supervisor to manage offender housing units at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville. You will oversee security and non-security staff, coordinate with treatment, medical and religious services, and ensure needs of housing unit residents are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least two years of direct contact with adult offenders in a correctional setting.
• Graduate coursework in Correctional Administration or Correction may substitute for experience, year-for-year, up to one year.
• Experience substitute for education: more security/treatment/administrative work with offenders can replace the degree, year-for-year, up to four years.

Responsibilities

• Identifies changes to policies and ACA standards to update SOPs and ensure team compliance with current standards.
• Ensures unit rules and regulations are enforced to promote facility safety and security by visual and audible monitoring.
• Monitors routine searches in line with agency policy via unit logbooks and the Tennessee Offender Management Information System.
• Organizes daily offender housing unit operations to meet safety, programming, and offender needs efficiently.
• Directs the operation of an offender housing unit.
• Plans special programs for offenders housed in the unit.
• Organizes and prioritizes workload of staff and subordinates using calendars and lists for timely completion.
• Prepares records and reports to document responsibilities and compliance with standards.
