Job summary

State of Indiana is seeking a Correctional Training Officer at a correctional facility in Pendleton to deliver specialized instruction for staff. You will collaborate with supervisors to update training, identify budget needs, and implement programs for operations, support, and service staff, including support at the Correctional Training Institute as needed.

The role emphasizes developing curricula, evaluating trainee performance, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and ACA

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Workforce Engagement Division principles and procedures.
• Understanding of Adult Learning principles.
• Familiarity with correctional training issues and ACA standards.
• Ability to develop and present detailed lesson plans.
• Completion of required training including Train the Trainer programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and assist in new employee, annual, and on-the-job training for all staff.
• Assist in development of training curricula to meet performance objectives.
• Test and evaluate trainee performance against standards.
• Ensure training programs comply with established standards and procedures.
• Maintain training records and prepare written reports.
