Job summary

State of Oklahoma's DOC Professional Development division seeks a Correctional Training Officer at the Jim E. Hamilton Correctional Center to design and deliver staff training programs. You will assess training needs, create curricula, and supervise training activities across facilities.

Level I/II roles cover lesson planning, classroom instruction, and program evaluation, with travel and licensing requirements as noted. A bachelor’s degree is required with pathway options to Level II.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; substitution of correctional/security work for education.
• Level II requires bachelor’s +1 year experience or master’s in related field.
• Preferred experience in correctional or law enforcement environment.
• Special requirements include travel and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts job analyses and develops curriculum, including lesson plans and materials.
• Prepares training reports and maintains training records on participants.
• Schedules and coordinates training sessions and locations.
• Provides supervision to other training officers and manages training contracts.
