Job summary

Alpharus Health, a national nonprofit behavioral health provider, seeks a Substance Use Counselor for the Bleckley PSATC location in Cochran, GA. You will conduct client interviews, assess treatment history, and support individualized treatment plans in a correctional setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a helping profession, plus counseling experience and eligibility for state certifications. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a schedule Monday–Thursday, 6:45 am–5:15 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a helping profession is required.
• Experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment preferred.
• Must obtain state certifications/licensures within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews and assess substance use history.
• Evaluate treatment response and help modify plans.
• Provide group and individual counseling and psychoeducation.
• Develop discharge summaries and aftercare plans with supervisor approval.
• Coordinate services to handle crisis situations and ensure compliance.
