The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor in North Carolina to provide education, therapy, and assessment for residents in a correctional-related program.

Role requires experience in counseling, collaboration with professionals, and the ability to implement program materials while staying current with industry developments. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualificações

• Experience in correctional settings preferred.
• Must obtain CADC/LCAS certification within one year of start date.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a team of professionals and implement team strategies.
• Proficiency with computers and department software.

Responsabilidades

• Provide relevant Substance Abuse information for class curriculum.
• Facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions.
• Select and recommend new instructional materials and programs for use in the substance abuse program.
• Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse.
• Maintain a collegian relationship with other substance abuse professionals, programs, and associations.
• Complete required testing, assessment, and psychosocial history on incoming residents as required.
• Participate in related training for substance abuse.

Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences

Associate’s degree with four years experience in chemical addictions counseling
