GEO Reentry Services LLC is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to implement Therapeutic Community models for residents at our Taylorville, IL facility. The role includes creating treatment outlines, charting progress, and coordinating care with the treatment team.

Responsibilities include conducting individual and group therapy, assessing aftercare needs, and supporting family involvement. The position requires a high school diploma (Bachelor's preferred) and certification within two years,

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in a social or human services field is preferred.
• Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling within two years of employment.
• Experience delivering human services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Substance Abuse Counselor implements Therapeutic Community Treatment models for residents at an assigned facility.
• Prepares and submits treatment and educational outlines, lectures, handouts and other materials.
• Keeps records and daily clinical charting as required.
• Implements substance abuse and life skills assessments and integrates results into resident treatment plans.
• Participates in training and supervision activities.
• Prepares schedules, reports, and information for program or clients.
• Assesses aftercare needs with partners in re-entry processes; provides counseling to residents' families.
• Coordinates individual clinical care of assigned resident caseload and participates in treatment planning.
• Observes resident interactions and provides individual and group therapy.
• Maintains resident records and uses ASI or other required assessment instruments.

Education
