Qualifications

• Official transcripts may be required if a college degree is submitted.

Responsibilities

• Review commitment documents to understand sentencing rules, update sentence information, and recalculate jail time credits as needed.
• Collaborate with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Court Clerks to fix mistakes in commitment documents and ensure all required documents are received.
• Search the inmate information system to identify and correct errors in inmate identification and number assignments, ensuring correct sentence details are entered in OBIS.
• Assess new commitments after inmate intake to determine whether a new inmate number is needed or if the original number can be used, updating sentence details and release dates as necessary.
• Work with Central Office staff to identify repeat offenders and document post-release supervision violations, creating a detailed records trail and advising on policy changes.
