Job summary
NaphCare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our medical team at Manatee County Jail in Palmetto, Florida. This PRN opportunity involves working in a controlled environment with correctional officers and clinicians to assess patients, administer medications, and respond to emergencies.
New graduates are encouraged to apply, with training in correctional healthcare provided. You will perform wound care, document in TechCare, and uphold confidentiality and facility policies
Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Active LPN license in the state.
- BLS CPR certification (American Heart Association).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and interview patients about health problems and medication history.
- Take vital signs (BP, temp, weight).
- Provide wound care and administer medications, including injections and monitoring reactions.
- Maintain medical records in TechCare and other systems.
- Observe health and mental health status; provide emergency first aid.
- Educate patients and assist with discharge planning.
