Job summary

NaphCare is hiring Per Diem Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team in Palmetto, Florida, at the Manatee County Jail. As a Correctional RN, you will work with correctional officers and medical staff to provide care in a controlled environment, performing assessments, administering meds, and managing chronic illnesses.

New grads are encouraged to apply; we offer training in correctional healthcare. This role offers per diem hours with competitive compensation and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license with no restrictions.
• Active BLS CPR certification (AHA).
• Knowledge of nursing principles, infection control, and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a correctional setting.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments.
• Monitor and document vital signs and medical histories.
• Provide direct care, triage, and care-plan development.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes).
• Respond to emergencies and arrange timely transports.
• Educate patients on preventive care and healthy habits.
• Follow facility security protocols and maintain records.
