Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) in Atlanta, GA to join the team serving inmates at Fulton County Jail. The role involves performing health screenings, managing chronic conditions, and responding to emergencies in a correctional setting.

New grads are encouraged to apply and will receive training in correctional healthcare. The position requires active GA RN license and BLS CPR certification, with a shift differential up to $5/hour.

Qualifications

• Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in Georgia.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required).
• Knowledge of nursing principles and patient safety standards, infectious disease management, and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime.
• Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Performing initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals.
• Monitoring and documenting patient health including vital signs and medical histories.
• Providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services.
• Managing acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid, and ensuring timely transport to appropriate facilities.
• Educating patients on preventative care and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Understanding and adhering to correctional facility security protocols in collaboration with correctional staff.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and reporting relevant information.
