Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring a Registered Nurse for correctional facilities in New Century and Olathe, KS. The RN provides quality care within state practice acts, advocating for patients and leading best nursing practices in the facility. Requires a Nursing degree and active RN license in the state.

Must have CPR certification and be capable of supervising nursing staff. Full-time shifts include day and night options with a $5 night shift differential; competitive benefits package

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Active CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medications to patients and monitor reactions; document outcomes.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ condition.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses and conditions.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a unit.
• Prepare patients for examinations or treatments.
• Instruct individuals/families on health education, disease prevention, and childbirth; develop health improvement programs.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies; maintain stock levels.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify patient condition.
