Job summary
NaphCare, Inc. is seeking a Correctional Registered Nurse for a part-time position in North Brunswick, NJ.
You will work with correctional officers and healthcare professionals to provide care for inmates in Middlesex County Jail, handling screenings, assessments, medication administration, and care plans in a controlled environment. New grads are encouraged to apply, and training in correctional healthcare is provided.
Qualifications
- Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the state.
- Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required).
- Knowledge of nursing practice principles, safety standards, and relevant healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments.
- Monitor and document patient health including vital signs and histories.
- Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, develop care plans, coordinate services.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, hypertension, diabetes).
- Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, arrange transport to facilities.
- Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Follow correctional facility security protocols while collaborating with staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records and report relevant information.
