Job summary

MEDIKO seeks a Physician to provide comprehensive medical care in a correctional health setting. This independent contractor role requires diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of conditions, while coordinating with nursing and staff to implement treatment plans.

You will prescribe medications and maintain compliant medical records in a regulated facility. The position is part-time with a ~2 hours/week commitment; compensation is $225 per hour, with standard benefits described by

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted state license in applicable clinical role (MD/DO/etc.)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing/Healthcare or related field preferred
• Completion of accredited graduate/professional program for advanced roles
• DEA registration if applicable
• Board certification preferred
• 3–5 years of clinical practice, 1–2 years in correctional/underserved settings preferred
• Active CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with nursing and staff to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and ensure high-quality patient care.
