Job summary

State of Nevada is seeking a Corrections Officer for a Conservation Camp in Pioche, a minimum-security facility. Trainees will undergo extensive training and tests as part of the selection process, including physical fitness and background checks.

Duties involve supervision, control of movement, and reporting to ensure safety and security for inmates, staff, and the public. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of work experience or an equivalent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of work experience or an equivalent combination.
• Basic mathematics knowledge and ability to read, understand and follow directions.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular checks and supervise inmate activity to maintain security and safety.
• Recordkeeping and reporting of incidents and movements as instructed.
• Interact with inmates and staff to ensure compliance with facility rules and procedures.
