Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Be a citizen of the United States.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed the basic recruit training course for correctional officers and have one year of experience as a certified officer with the State of Florida.
• Must not have received a suspension within the past 12 months.
• Must not have received an involuntary demotion within the past 24 months.
• Must not have received less than a 3.00 rating on a performance evaluation within the past 3 fiscal years.

Responsibilities

• Supervises correctional officers and sergeants assigned to security posts across shifts.
• Serves as initial commander during emergencies and operates as facility manager after hours.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates post assignments, leave, and attendance records.
• Conducts performance evaluations and may recommend disciplinary actions to higher management.
• Oversees searches, security inspections, inmate housing, transports, and crisis response.
