Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections seeks candidates for Correctional Officer 1 and/or 2 at Stafford Creek Corrections Center (SCCC) in Aberdeen, WA. SCCC operates 24/7; on-call/intermittent positions have no minimum hour guarantee.

Successful applicants will attend six weeks of paid training, complete CORE, and progress to CO2 after training. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications including high school/GED, valid driver's license, and ability to carry a firearm.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Valid Driver's license.
• The legal (Constitutional) right to carry a firearm.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security in an adult correctional facility.
• Control and monitor movement of incarcerated individuals.
• Work as a positive role model and support re-entry efforts.
• Complete and maintain required training and certifications.
