The Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center is seeking Correctional Officers for entry-level or DCJS-certified roles. The position offers 12-hour shifts on 2-2-3 rotations and comprehensive training to meet Virginia DCJS standards.

Responsibilities include supervising inmates, maintaining security, and reporting incidents to support safe operations. No prior corrections experience is required, but candidates must meet age, citizenship, license, and health requirements and be flexible for

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Keen observational skills to monitor individuals and surroundings effectively.
• Ability to pass NRADC physical agility exam and other pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor pre and post-trial incarcerated persons, ensuring compliance with facility rules and safety.
• Conduct inspections of living areas, personal belongings, and security devices; respond to breaches and emergencies.
• Prepare detailed reports on observations and incidents; participate in disciplinary hearings and protect crime scenes.
