Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Correctional Officer in Georgia to ensure the safety and orderly operation of housing units and common areas. The role includes supervising inmates, guarding entrances, and supporting daily facility activities while maintaining professional standards.

The position offers paid training, potential licensing support, and eligibility for benefits. Ideal candidates are 18+, hold a high school diploma or GED, and can work any shift as needed.

Qualifications

• Have a high school diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• We train you to be successful: Paid training, and where applicable, be a non-commissioned security officer licensed by the state of employment (we pay the cost for you).
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Can demonstrate the ability to complete any required training.
• Are available to work any hours, any shift.
• Are at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• Able to work any shift and be assigned to various posts including armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes your military service to qualify you for positions requiring criminal justice experience.

The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility. You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
