Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of relevant work experience.
• Comparable combination of education and work experience may be considered.
• Preferred associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

Responsibilities

• Keep the facility safe, secure, and running smoothly by conducting inmate head counts, wellness checks, cell inspections, and security rounds.
• Respond to emergencies, apply crisis-intervention techniques, and de-escalate mental-health situations with skill.
• Oversee intake and release processes, fingerprinting, photographing, property management, and accurate documentation.
• Supervise recreation, meals, medication distribution, visitations, and inmate movement to maintain order.
• Conduct NCIC checks, manage warrants and protection orders, and support inmates’ access to programs and services.
• Handle communications equipment, log movement and activity, distribute mail and supplies, and keep detailed records.
• Contribute to a secure, respectful environment that protects inmates, staff, and the public.

Education
