Grade & Wage: $16.22 Per Hour (Non-Exempt)

Status: Full-Time (40 hours per week) with benefits, Union-Eligible, and Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Union-Eligible

Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the security of the prison and the care, custody, and safety of inmates.
• Supervising and recording inmate movement and daily activities.
• Ensuring security through cell searches, area searches, body searches, and perimeter checks.
• Providing backup security to other corrections personnel as needed.
• Monitoring visits, church services, treatment programs, and other inmate activities.
• Providing minor medical assistance as required.
• Counseling inmates on personnel and institutional issues.
• Interacting with other criminal justice agencies and the public.
• Escorting inmates through the prison.
• Assisting with inmate commitments and releases.
• Supervising and maintaining control of assigned areas to ensure inmate compliance with rules and regulations.
• Monitoring activities within their areas to prevent problems or security issues.
• Transporting inmates to and from medical appointments as needed.

Schedule: Rotating, split, and other shift variations may be required, including work scheduled for holidays and weekends. Unscheduled and mandatory overtime are also required.
